25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. Ephesians 5:25-26.

We are in a season in which we have to be purified by the word. We often come into contact with a lot of distractions in the world – but God has given His Word to help us maintain a pure heart before Him.
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13.
The heart is an important aspect of our walk with God. It is where He deposits His will and purposes – expecting us to carry them out. When the heart is not conducive for the Word, nothing takes place. As we regularly hear the message of Christ, our hearts are washed, making it possible for the glory of God to be revealed.
The More We Are Washed By The Word, The More We Improve Our Relationship With God

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[b] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:1-8.
We deepen our relationship with God when we yield ourselves to the cleansing power of His Word. We cannot bear the fruit of the Spirit if we fail to allow the word of God to get hold of our hearts. The Word is everything in the kingdom. Taking it for granted will ultimately cost you a lot.
There is no way you can bear fruit if you don’t abide in the Word. It takes only the Word to help us not to conform to the standards of this world. Let your heart be cleansed today. Decide to let God do His thing in you. Submit your heart to the Word if you want to see glorious things take place in your life.
It is not enough to claim you’re a Christian. The only thing to prove that statement is to bear fruit. Trees are known for their fruits. Jesus said by their fruit you shall know them. If the fruit you bear is ungodly, the solution to that is to let the Word wash you. Jesus is coming for a church that has no stain or blot. He cleanses us while we engage Him on earth. So by the time He comes back, our fellowship has taken care of any dirt in our hearts. This is the time to show up for the Lord. Let the Word wash you so that you always bear spiritual fruit. Stay blessed.
