14 For the love of Christ controls us because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
There are many people who don’t understand freedom let alone, the freedom in Christ Jesus. It is assumed that to be free means one can do just about anything that comes to mind. Freedom is not the license to whatever you want.
Jesus did what He did for us so that we can live for Him. We were set free from the bondage of sin so that we can live righteously. The ultimate question many fail to answer is that, why would Jesus save you from the very thing you want to continue in?
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
You’re a slave to sin if you don’t want to enjoy God’s freedom in Christ. We were not set free from the works of the flesh to go back in there. Our freedom is measured by how we selflessly live for Christ. Sin is destroyed by the grace of the Lord Jesus. Why do you want to go back to living like you were never saved? We couldn’t do for ourselves what Jesus did.
Our freedom in Christ brought us what we truly deserved. The human race deserved to be healthy, prosperous, live, and ultimately, have a relationship with God who is our source. Sin took all that away from us. Who wouldn’t want to be healthy? Who wouldn’t want to prosper? In fact, who wouldn’t want to live? So what at all is in sin that many can’t do without?
The answer is simple – the universal church hasn’t thoroughly shared the glory and the riches of our freedom in Christ. We are here on earth to live for the one who paid the ultimate price – death! You cannot take His freedom and do what you feel like doing. Learn to live for the Lord!
Our Freedom In Christ Is The Reason, Jesus Suffered On The Cross
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
The only reason Jesus had to go to the cross was to die for our sins. He had no other business to go to the cross if not for our sins. We were in bondage – and someone had to do the needful. Our freedom in Christ summarizes why Jesus died for us.
Since He was the one who died for you, is it too much if He wants you to live for Him? And by the way, to live for the Lord is the best thing that you can have in life. Your freedom in Christ ensures that you live the way God designed you to live – one full of life and vitality. Imagine someone healed you, and immediately after that, you felt like going back to that condition?.
The best thing that could ever happen to you is to live the way God wants you to live in Christ. It is His Freedom. Your freedom in Christ is to live in a manner worthy of the Lord’s death on the cross. Why be sexually immoral when Jesus freed you from that?
Our freedom in Christ was achieved so that we can live in the way God intended us to live before the foundation of the world. Live for the Lord, and you will never regret it. Don’t live for yourself – it’s worth nothing! Stay blessed
