How To Avoid Doubting The Things Of God

So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:6-7

Doubting is one of the tools the devil uses to deny many believers from walking in the glory of the Father. And how does he achieve that? By making what we see become the focus instead of our faith.

There are some believers who are so used to the sight realm – what they see and feel. But that changed the moment you got born again. Doubting happens when one cannot see beyond what is seen. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It doesn’t come by what you see. You cannot claim you have faith because your bank balance is good- that is sight stuff!

You have faith because God’s Word declares that you’re prosperous, and not because of your bank balance. The reality is, you can even doubt God even though you have a good bank balance. How is that possible? Because your bank balance may not be what God’s Word is saying concerning your finances. So to trust in what is seen could lead you to doubt what God has in store for you.

Therefore, the way to avoid doubting is to focus on what God is saying. It doesn’t really matter what you have, continue to stay on the Word of God. The moment you take your eyes off the Father is when the devil is capable of using anything to prevent you from enjoying the glory.

Doubting Can Delay The manifestation Of The Glory

23 Jesus said to him, “If[d] you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

Many want to experience the glory of God yet are not ready to believe. Doubting produces hesitancy, wavering, and an attitude that challenges the efficacy of the Word of God. God’s glory is revealed through His Word. You cannot desire to see the glory when you’re not fully committed to believing.

Believing means to be persuaded. Thus, a believer is one who is always persuaded to do the Word. So the best way to avoid doubting the things of God is really to focus on what the Father is saying so as to do it.

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [e]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” Mattew 14:28-30

Peter, in one encounter with Lord, showed the negative impact of doubting. He began to sink because he took his heart away from the Word that commanded him to walk on water in the first place. It doesn’t really matter what is going on around you, as difficult as they may look, don’t stop believing! The devil’s strategy is to get you to look at the events surrounding you so that your heart wouldn’t believe.

He knows, yes the devil knows, that the power of God is revealed through His Word. And that anyone who aligns with the word of God will ultimately spank him. Make it your goal not to see before believing. Hear to believe – don’t see to believe. I know there is a saying in the world that says that “seeing is believing”. But in Christ, hearing is believing! Stay blessed
