7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
We are ordained to live by faith from the moment we got saved. To live by faith is the same way as saying to walk by faith. But how many believers are living this way? Every believer has to learn how to navigate through the sight realm in this world with their faith.
Walking by faith is a big deal in the kingdom. God doesn’t take it lightly if you refuse to live by faith.
38 But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10:38
God is not pleased when you try to live your own way. Faith is the only way to live the spiritual life here on earth. The quicker you become aware of the fact that in the kingdom, it’s either God’s way or nothing, the better it will be for you.
So where do we get faith from since it is the standard of living in the kingdom?
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Faith doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It comes when we repeatedly hear the Word. It is not enough to hear the Word just once. Don’t be part of believers who only hear the Word when they go for a church meeting. You can do more than that.
Faith is how God stores His Word in our hearts. The heart is where everything in our lives begins. Until you hear the Word, your heart will be without faith. Lack of faith is the reason many live by what they see. If you don’t have the faith from God to live, the devil will easily deceive you by sight.
Without first consulting the Word of God in his heart, the one living by faith will be incapable of doing anything. We live in the sight realm. Many make decisions based on what they see; this ends up arousing their emotions to act. But we are different – we are not triggered to take action based on what we see. We act based on the Word we have heard and been stored in our hearts. This is how to live by faith.
To Live By Faith Produces Thanksgiving
19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:19-21
Thanksgiving is an act of faith. You don’t have to wait to see what you’re looking for before thanking God. All that Abraham had was the word of God in his heart. He was convinced that God was able to do what He had promised him. Though he was past childbearing age, he maintained his faith through thanksgiving and eventually got hold of what he wanted
Even his name came from faith. Each time he mentioned it, he was re-echoing what had been promised him – that is, to be the father of many nations. Why was he called the father of many nations when he didn’t even have one child? But for twenty-five years, he kept on thanking God until the Word manifested with his firstborn from faith.
God didn’t recognize Ishmael as Abraham’s heir because he came from sight and not faith. You have no credit whenever you do anything without first consulting the Word stored up in your heart. As far as God is concerned, whatever you have in this world must be influenced by His Word. Thank God for His Word in the areas of your health, finance, career, marriage, business, etc.
A person who lives by faith gets excited when the Word is delivered and goes on to live accordingly. May your faith transform your life now and forevermore. Amen!
