8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
God wants us to have a pure heart. You must be interested in this since it comes with a huge bonus of seeing God. Everyone wants to see God, isn’t it? But the way to have that experience is to keep your heart pure.
We are built differently in Christ. The heart is an essential medium through which God’s plans, will, and purposes manifest in our lives. There must be a determination on your part to maintain a pure heart all the time. So how do you do that?
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away, and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. John 15:2-3
God cannot do anything without His Word – it is the way He accomplishes His desires. The only way to maintain a pure heart is by using the cleansing power of the word of God. By constantly having the word in your heart, you’re cleansed and ready to have a pure heart.
The heart is the engine of our lives in this world – everything we do proceeds from it. It is also the soil that receives the Word. When our hearts are receptive to the word of God, what we do is always godly. God wants to influence our actions and thoughts with His Word. If what you do is not Word-induced, then you aren’t doing it from a pure heart.
It is expected of us to bear fruit with the Word we receive. We have been warned not to be hearers of the Word only but doers. Anyone who moves from the level of hearing only to doing bears fruits that pleases the Father. There is no chance one can bear godly fruits without a pure heart.
What the Word does is to, first of all, purify the heart and then make it ready to be productive. We are cleansed by the Word we hear. The Holy Spirit in us positions our hearts to be ready to receive the Word with the right attitude that empowers us to be fruitful. Living by the Word and having a pure heart will always lead you to be fruitful.
The Washing Of Water By The Word Will Guarantee You A Pure Heart
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:26-27
Dear beloved of the Lord, I admonish you to hold the word of God with all your heart. God’s cleansing grace through His Word is to present you unto Himself blameless, spotless, and without any wrinkle. A pure heart is one, having been purified by the water of the Word, who goes on to bear fruits to the glory of the Father.
Let everything you do be routed through the Word. Keep a pure heart – don’t let the devil deceive you into engaging your sight before acting. In the time that we find ourselves in, keep your heart from following the narrative of the world. Let your heart be full of vitality coming from the Word and Spirit. Stay blessed
