How To Pray According To The Will Of God

42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in agony he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.[g]. Luke 22:42-44

To pray according to the will of God should be the priority of every believer. It is not every prayer that God answers. God proved it through Jesus when He turned down His request to take away His cup. He was in so much agony until His sweat became like great drops of blood, yet, He wasn’t granted His request.

It is an error to assume that God will do whatever we ask Him. The reality, however, is that He performs according to His will. If what you are asking God for is against His will, then there is no chance of receiving. This has to be made clear because we find all sorts of prayers being made in the church. We cannot ask the Father to do something against His will.

Prayer is how we communicate to God based on what He has planted in us through His Word. Agreeing with Him makes communication easier.

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3

God sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins. Imagine granting Him his request of not going to the cross? Would salvation have been possible for the human race? We all would’ve continued living under the tyranny of the devil. If God is going to answer all that you pray for, there won’t be any room to fulfill His glory in your life.

12 I beseech[a] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your [b]reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Roamsn 12:1-2

Until you subject yourself to the will of God, your prayer life will be full of frustrations. So how do you pray according to the will of God? You do so by submitting yourself to the Word in Christ Jesus and yielding to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. God in Christ has a beautiful way of doing things. The Confidence To Pray Is To Know The Will Of God

14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15

The confidence to pray does not lie in how loud you shout in prayer, or the tone in your voice, or the gymnastics that come with you speaking in tongues. The only confidence you must have is to know the will of God in Christ Jesus and align your prayer accordingly. You will have no problems if you pray in such a manner.

The will of God in Christ is to save everyone. It is not His desire to destroy anyone before His return. His goal is to save. Therefore, asking God to kill someone is not in His perfect will. Words are powerful. The fact that someone died because of your prayer doesn’t mean God executed it. Satan can take advantage of your words as well.

God has poured His best on us in Christ. Life, prosperity, health, salvation, etc. are all yours! Align your prayers to His glory. God maintained His will in Jesus despite praying in agony. Stand on the Word concerning your health, finances, career, education, family, and relationships. Pray according to the will of God and see Him move like never before. Stay blessed
