How To See people The Way God Sees Them

34 [h]Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34

People are at the core of everything God does. God wants the best for the human race – the very reason Jesus was sent into the world to save us. God has big plans for the entire world, and it is our duty to see others the same way the Father sees them.

The death and subsequently the resurrection of our Lord brought an end to any conflict that existed between God and the people of the world. Therefore, as things stand now, and until the day of judgment, there is absolutely no human being who is an enemy of God.

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, Ephesians 2:15-16

The Lord ensured that no one remained an enemy of God until the day of accountability. With that sorted out, there is no way we can see people as enemies. If God is not seeing them as His enemies, we can’t do differently. God, through Jesus, did everything to save the entire human race from sin. Jesus fully paid the price to reconcile us to God. If God is not seeing people as His enemy, we don’t have the luxury to do that. I know this will sound a bit unconventional, but God, at this moment, is more interested in saving lives than in destroying them.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

In Christ, we live and walk in the Spirit, and there is only one enemy of God, that is, Satan. What he does is manipulate people and use them against each other.

Cast Out The Devil and Save The People

53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, [j]just as Elijah did?”55 But He turned and rebuked them, [k]and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 56 [l]For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village. Luke *:53-56

Jesus had to correct His disciples because the battle is not among people. We have an unseen enemy who uses people to do his bidding. Natural people will see someone as the reason something is wrong, but we can’t take our eyes off the fact that the devil is the one behind it.

Remember that evil spirits don’t die. If you destroy the individual whom the devil is using against you, you will lose a life, but the spirit will go into another vessel. With the authority we have in Christ Jesus, our job is to cast out the evil spirit manipulating people against us. Instead of seeking their destruction, seek their salvation – for that is the Spirit you carry. Jesus had to stop His disciples from repeating what Elijah did because the Spirit of God is all about saving lives.

When people are manipulated by the devil, they obviously don’t know what they are doing – the very reason Jesus said, “Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing”. The devil blinds them to achieve what he wants to do. Many believers often direct their anger and prayers against such people. They seek their destruction and death so that they, in turn, will enjoy peace. I understand all that, but the truth is always the truth – it is not in our right to seek the destruction of others.

Yes, vengeance is the Lord’s, but His vengeance is not being exercised at this moment. He sent Jesus to die to save those who got Him angry in the first place. Until the day of judgement, when God will finally destroy the devil along with those who rejected His salvation, His focus is to save people. And as His body on earth, we can’t see differently. Seek the salvation of souls and not their destruction – this is the only way you can see people the way God sees them.

As long as we are in this world, we are going to be offended by people. But we carry the life to forgive even the worse “sinner”. If God forgives even the murderer, who are we to seek vengeance from the Lord against people we think are not for us? I know this message may sound very unpopular, but it is the truth, and it is my prayer that the truth will set all of us free. Stay blessed
