27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Believers have a special kind of peace. Before leaving the world, our Lord left behind His divine peace in order for us to navigate this turbulent world. Only a few Christians are aware of the fact that our peace differs from that of the world. What the world claims to be peace is not even peace at all.
Even though the world is chaotic, the absence of conflict is not the only measurement of peace. The entire world was left baffled and fearful at the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though there was no major conflict yet, there was, and still no peace.
Divine peace is inherent in every believer. The believer’s life is not subject to the elemental forces of this world.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:3-5
Life in Christ is an embodiment of peace. The devil’s schemes in the world do not control or intimidate us. God’s peace keeps our hearts in stable condition despite the many threats we receive daily from the enemy. Jesus brought us total peace. This guarantees us to live life the way God wants us to in every aspect of our lives.
Some people don’t have peace in their lives because they are broke. There is no conflict, but there is no peace. Others are sick and dying. Joblessness is another thing that takes away the peace of many. I can go on and on, but without Jesus, this world cannot offer any peace.
Divine Peace Transcends Human Understanding
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
The way you walk in divine peace is to stop looking for comfort in this world. Humans, by nature, have no clue what peace is all about. Rather, look from within – where our Father has deposited His peace. Knowledge of who you are is essential to walking in divine peace.
You’re born with a life that has power over all the forces of darkness.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17.
No weapon under this sun has the mandate and capacity to destroy you. Is it sickness, lack, joblessness, or death? None carry the potency to disturb your peace. That is why your knowledge of your freedom in Christ and the glory He has given you is crucial to you walking in divine peace.
You are untouchable! And even if the devil finds his way into your affairs, you still have the power to cast him out. Walk in divine peace, for your Father has got you covered. Stay blessed.
