7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

It pleases God when we walk in faith. However, before we even start walking it, we need to have a strong understanding of it. The apostles of the early church taught faith in a way we don’t find it today.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:5-10
The early church understood faith to be having the Word in your heart and speaking it from your mouth. What you do with the Word you have received determines if you have faith or not. The only way you can walk in faith is to take actions with the Word. Until you become a Word addict, you cannot please God.
You Walk In Faith By Taking Action With The Word
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:14-17

You cannot be seen as walking in faith until you do something with the Word. Faith is action! It is what you do with the Word in the now. Anytime you hear God’s word, the first thing is to believe (be persuaded) in your heart. The second thing you do is to speak forth what you have in your heart. When you speak it without doubting, your steps shall be guided by what has been spoken. Faith is not action based on emotions. It is what you say and do with the Word in your heart.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25
To do God’s word is faith. You deceive yourself when you do nothing with the Word. Don’t let the Word depart from your heart. Keep it and never let it go. We please God when we do what He says. Disobedience is costly. Doubt is even worse. Whatever God tells you to do, carry it out with no hesitation.
The Word made everything. So if there is anything you need to have in your life the most, then it is the Word. Stay blessed.
