Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Praise the Lord, a common greeting in the body of Christ is very powerful. God loves us to praise Him. His praises exalt Him above any other deity. But what does the greeting praise the Lord really mean? In the kingdom of God, understanding what you do plays a big part in your transformation.
Praise translates the Hebrew word halal. The word literally means to shine, to flash, to radiate, have bright or visible light be visible from the source. However, the common most intensive meaning of halal is to boast. In other words, the meaning of praise the Lord is to boast in and of the Lord. God deserves our praises, and it is our singular honor to do so.
Hallelujah means the same thing – praise the Lord. God wants us to boast in Him and for us to express His mighty works in the world. Some people don’t believe that God created the heavens and the earth. They claim there is no God – but for us who know Him, our task is to boast of the one who made all things possible.
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, [j]judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24
We don’t have the permission to boast about or in anything we have. If God is your source and resource, then your boasting should be in Him and not in yourself. The difference between us and those in the world is that they describe themselves as self-made, but we are God-made. There is no self-made billionaire in the kingdom of God – we are all God-made successful people.
Faith Is Expressed When You Praise The Lord
That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:7

One cannot have faith from God without praising Him. Just look at the wonder of God – His marvelous works in the universe, there is no excuse not to praise the Lord. Every believer ought to grow in praising the Lord. It is one of the most powerful things we should do.
Our faith should lead us to praise the Lord. King David knew the secret and power of praising God. The children of Israel discovered the power of praise when they went around the city of Jericho seven times to bring down. There is nothing that exists by its own strength and power – God made everything and as such, we must give Him all the praise.
Praising the Lord has nothing to do with singing high-tempo songs; it is all about boasting in the Lord. Make known His mighty works and victories in your life.
And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!” Romans 15:11
Praise the Lord at all times! This is what you do to bring the glory of God into your life. Be mindful of His greatness and all your seemingly great problems will bow to the glory of your Father. Praise the Lord!!
