I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2.
Quite a number of believers are fed up with what they’re going through and seek to experience the transformed life Jesus suffered for. However, it is not enough to desire a change of circumstances. You must understand how to move from an unpleasant life into a glorious one.
There is no transformed life until you cultivate the habit of renewing your mind. I honestly don’t see any better way to put it. The church can’t manifest the glory of God in Christ if we are not ready to engage God at the level of what He has done for us. This is not about binding, loosing, and casting out of demons. A transformed life is achievable when you change the way you think.
The word transformed translates the Greek word metamorphoo. The basic meaning of the word is changing into another form. As in metamorphosis, in which larvae completely changes into a butterfly. How can you experience the transformed life we have in Christ if you’re not willing to change from the inside out?
A lot of believers have become ordinary because their understanding of life is stuck in the old nature. Continual conformance to the world will bring no change. If you want to walk in the newness of life, the first step is to renew your mind and the transformation will definitely come.
Jesus Died To Bring Us A Transformed Life
16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:16-17
I love 2 Corinthians 5:17. But anytime I see verse 16, I realized how many believers have been short-changed by their mindset. We are new in Christ. In Him, we have a guaranteed transformed life. So why are many not walking in it? It is obviously a state of the mind.
When you get hold of the realities we have in Christ, there is no way you wouldn’t have a changed heart. It is sad how many have accepted the life Jesus defeated for us on the cross as their standard of living. They cry day and night, yet, forgetting that the solution for their cry lies in changing their thought pattern.
Living a transformed life is possible. Jesus suffered not for us to continue suffering. Be determined and courageous to have a mindset that is ready to reveal the glory of God in your life.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. Colossians 3:9-10
The more you know what God did for you in Christ, the more your mind is renewed. And the renewal is the catalyst for a transformed life. It is possible to live on earth in such a way that glorifies God. There is no gain when you conform to the world. God has made you new in Him – walk therefore and be transformed. Stay blessed.
