Operating In The Wisdom Of Christ

24 But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24

Operating in the wisdom of Christ is the sure way to see the glory of God in a mega way. Some of us may have been there before. We may have, at one point or the other prayed to God for the kind of wisdom He gave King Solomon. However, the children of God shouldn’t be asking Him for Solomon’s wisdom. Why? Because we have a better one – we have Christ’s wisdom.

Wisdom is essential in our walk with the Father. In the New Testament, the word wisdom comes from the Greek word Sophia. Sophia is the ability to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding. Simply put, wisdom is applied knowledge. Take note that the requirement to gain wisdom is knowledge and understand.

In other words, no one can become wise without knowing something. What you know is what determines whether it is the wisdom of God or the wisdom of this world. Jesus Christ became the wisdom from God unto us because He is at the core of His being. Jesus is the Word of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Jesus is God because He was the Word of the Father who came into the world to take up the form of a man. So for Christ to have been made the wisdom of God unto us, is a way the Father is saying that His Word makes us wise. Wisdom, according to God, is to follow the best course of action based on His Word. You are not wise because you’re smart – the only determinant of wisdom is the Word.

You cannot have knowledge and understanding without hearing the Word. What you know forms the basis for your wisdom. In that case, Christ’s wisdom is to live our lives based on the Word we have received from the Father.

Christ’s Wisdom Superior To Solomon’s

2 Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he [a]charged Solomon his son, saying: “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;

that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, ‘you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’ 1 Kings 2:1-4

Solomon started well. He received the right counsel and word from his father David, but his end was worse than how he started. He ended up violating the laws of Moses to the extent of marrying 700 wives and having 300 women as concubines. In the end, some of these women turned his heart from God almighty to worship their gods. Hopefully, you are not looking for such wisdom?

Christ’s wisdom is from above and is superior to that of Solomon. The Word of God in your spirit sets you apart and positions you to manifest the glory of the Father. Function in Christ’s wisdom. Don’t kowtow to the standard of this world – let the message of the gospel ignite your passion to live for the one who died and rose again for you. Stay blessed always
