33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
Believers must seek first the kingdom of God even more as the Day of our Lord approaches. Prioritizing the things of the kingdom is what the Father desires from us in these last days. Jesus set an example for us to follow – He was kingdom-first and so should we.
48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” 49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Luke 2:48-49
Even as a young boy, Jesus was occupied His mind with the interest of the kingdom. He was busy doing the Father’s work while Mary was worried about His safety. Jesus started laying the foundation at a very young to seek first the kingdom of God for His followers to emulate. If the progress of the kingdom doesn’t matter to you, then you have lost your sense of belonging.
You cannot prioritize the things of this world over what matters in the kingdom. You cannot do what the world wants you to do first before taking care of the Father’s business. It is an obvious error to find a believer having close to zero interest in the work of God or matters of the kingdom.
To seek first the kingdom of God should be the compass that every child of God lives by on earth. The ability to be kingdom-first-minded is embedded in the life we have from God. Seek first the kingdom and its righteousness – don’t seek your convenience first. Your life should be all about the Father’s kingdom – making sure to bring him good pleasure.
Whatever you do for the Lord cannot be more important than what you do for the Lord. What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Your entire purpose in the world is to do the will of the Father. All your pursuits should be kingdom-driven – your joy should come from how your place the kingdom first in all you do.
To seek first the kingdom of God is to accept to promptly carry out the Father’s will on earth. It is written, “let your will be done on earth” as it is in heaven”. Your various engagements should be timed around what you do for the Lord and not vice versa. In other words, plan your daily routine around what matters in the kingdom and not the other way round.
You Shall Have Fulfillment In Life When You Seek First The Kingdom Of God
12 I beseech[a] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your [b]reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
The only way to be transformed is not to conform. When you conform to the standards of this world, you derail your progress in the SPirit. That is why you ought to make everything about the kingdom your standard for living. Those who seek first the kingdom of God don’t have room to engage the fleeting pleasures of this world.
Those who seek first the kingdom of God are shameless, bold, and full of joy to be identified as God’s soldiers on earth. They preach the gospel and take on activities of the kingdom seriously. You cannot deny that the role you play in the kingdom is essential to the realization of the will of God in the world. Don’t let the pursuit of money be more important than your work for the Lord. Don’t let the flesh or any laziness interfere with you working for the Father.
The secret to wealth and fulfillment in life is to seek first the kingdom of God. There is no other way that is better than this. No secular job can pay better than God – be fully dedicated to His course and see your life soar to the top. Stay blessed
