The Holy Spirit, Our Reminder

17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:17-19

One of the major works of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to remind us of the will of God. Forgetfulness is not from God. The Father desires that we show appreciation to Him and the vessels He works through to fulfill His will on the earth.

26 But the [g]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26

For whatever God does in this world, there is a vessel He works with. The Father will not do anything on earth without having a human partner.

The Holy Spirit helps us to acknowledge God, as well as the vessels He uses to minister into our lives. When God works through someone to bring you a blessing, don’t forget him. The one leper could have said, well, I thank God for cleansing me. But what did he do? He went back to the one whom God used to heal him.

His healing was complete only when he didn’t forget the one God used to heal him. You have equally failed to recognize God when you forget to appreciate those He uses to bless you. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to remind you of the people He worked through to bless your life.

40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. Matthew 10:40-41

Did you just read that? God’s work happens through people. Don’t ignore those He has sent to be a blessing to you.

Those Who Forget Have been Blinded By The Devil

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

I said earlier that forgetfulness is not the work of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who forgets what God has done through His vessels is definitely not operating by the way of the Lord. God wants you to both acknowledge Him and those He works through.

As long as we are in this world, people are partners in fulfilling God’s will on earth. If God had to become a man to save us from darkness, then you should know the role that people play in bringing to pass the will of God. The Holy Spirit reminds you of the will of God and the people He worked with to fulfill them in your life.

You have yourself to blame if you develop the tendency to forget those who God worked with to bring you thus far in your life. As a child of God, refuse to be blinded by the deception of the enemy. Remember what God has done in your life and the people He used to do those things. The Holy Spirit is our reminder – He never allows us to forget.

Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Hebrews 7:7

It is God who blesses, but He does it through people. You cannot do without the people factor in the plan of God. Learn to thank God as well as honoring the people who availed themselves for the Lord to work through.

38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

Don’t forget God’s vessels of honor. As you appreciate God for what He has done, don’t forget His partners. Stay blessed
