Why The Holy Spirit Must Lead You

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

We are often told that the Holy Spirit should lead us – however, it remains that some believers have no idea why it ought to be so. The truth is that there are two spirits at work in the world. These spirits are the influencers and architects of events, thoughts, and actions of people.

The main influencers are the Holy Spirit and the evil spirit. The Holy Spirit is God and the evil spirit is the devil. These are the two main spirits behind events and actions in the world. Whether you believe it or not, no one does anything by him/herself. I have encountered some people who disagree with this because feel it makes human beings look robotic. Well, whether we are robots or not, the truth that cannot be denied is that we don’t live for ourselves. It’s either you do the will of the devil or God.

After God created the heavens and the earth, the first event of sin that took place was when Lucifer rebelled. He was cast down to the earth – God’s light was taken from him and became darkness. When God takes away His glory and presence, darkness becomes the order of the day. He brought his darkness on earth but the Father decided to recreate it again in His light – Genesis 1:1-2.

After the recreation of the world, Adam and his wife also sinned. Their action resulted in the re-introduction of darkness into the world. In the account of Genesis, two trees were in the garden; the tree of life and the knowledge of good and evil. Being deceived by the devil, they ate from the tree that they were forbidden to touch. Since that moment, darkness, which is the presence of the evil spirit, took over every sphere of life on the earth.

Every single person on earth from that moment became accustomed to deplorable ways of living. Sin of all types including, murder, lust, death, fornication, adultery, sicknesses and diseases, poverty, etc became common. The evil spirit started ravaging generations and continues his works even until today.

The Holy Spirit Our Difference

15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[e] Father.” Romans 8:15

The word Holy that qualifies the Spirit of God must be understood. It comes from the Greek word hagios. This word properly means different, distinct, or set apart. The Holy Spirit, therefore, means the different Spirit. Different Spirit from what creation has been used to after the fall. Generations have been used to the evil spirit who plagues them with death, sickness, and diseases, poverty, hardship, lack of joy, pains, etc. But now, by the works of Jesus Christ, God has sent His own Spirit who is different from what is in the world so that we can experience His joy. Gloryyyy!!!

We are no longer under bondage to the evil spirit of the devil. We have been set free! If you want to experience something different from what you are used to, you need the Holy (different) Spirit to lead you. I have not yet come across anyone who desires to be sick, poor, die, or be defeated; yet, these same people don’t want the Holy Spirit to lead them.

The Holy Spirit will only lead you by the Word of God. He will not lead by your flesh – that is how the evil spirit leads. He leads by sight but the Holy Spirit leads by faith ( the Word of God in your Spirit). Today, by the work of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of our God and Father, you shall experience a different result, health, outcome, and circumstance in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen!
