10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
Is it not wonderful to know that the joy of the Lord is our strength? No one would’ve thought that by walking in joy, you gain strength. In other words, many believers are weak because of a lack of joy. The joy that flows from the Father is what strengthens us to do more for the kingdom. If you’re not excited by what Jesus did on the cross, then you are missing out.
Do you know that the root meaning of grace is joy? It is unfathomable if any believer is not expressing joy after what Jesus did for u. By walking in the joy of the Lord, we reveal the qualities, life, and glory of the Father. Because many have lived under hardship, sickness, and diseases, it seems there is less appreciation of what the Lord did for us.
To walk in the joy of the Lord is to express the fruit of the Spirit. Joy is central to everything that God does. We are told to rejoice always—not sometimes. Not when everything looks good and not when things are looking bad. I have met some believers who, when things are okay, are a delight to watch. But when they encounter some challenges, question God.
Walking in the joy of the Lord at all times is proof of your status in Christ. It shows you are aware of the glory of God in your life. Having a stable mind about your life is a priceless asset. We must align our whole being to the will and intent of the Father. The moment you appreciate the enormity of what Jesus did for you, you cannot afford not to walk in joy.
Joy is a sign of victory. It is the force that drives us on. The enemy may come to disturb our divine peace, but the joy of the Lord keeps us moving on. The essence of our joy, therefore, is the fact that we were lost in darkness—we went in our own ways, but through Jesus, Je paid the price for our sins and reconciled us to the king of kings. Hallelujah!
No one could die for you! Your parents or siblings couldn’t have done what Jesus did. Besides, His resurrection has given us power over all the powers of the enemy. With this, no weapon of the devil can touch us. We already paid the price for our joy. You cannot afford not to be glad. Manifest great pleasure for the Lord your God has won for you the battle.
The Joy Of The Lord Is What Should Keep Us Going At All Times
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Philippians 4:4
We must build an atmosphere of the joy of the Lord, both in our hearts and around us. Why is this important? Because the hallmark of a staunch believer is to walk in joy. Joy simply means inner gladness, great pleasure, or to be in delight. To walk in joy is the manifestation of the gospel we have received.
Let the good news from the gospel keep your heart in perfect joy. Joy is your strength – a weapon you cannot afford not to use. If you ever find yourself in a position of disadvantage, remind yourself of your victory in Christ and switch on your joy—for that is your strength in the moment of weakness. Stay blessed.
