What To do If You Have A Bad Dream

For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10:4-6

Having a bad dream shouldn’t get you worried as a believer. I believe some dreams do come true, but just like any area of our lives, we ought to align ourselves to what we have become in Christ more than what we see in our dreams.

In other words, who you are in Christ Jesus and all that he brought into you when He was raised from the dead should be above whatever you see in a dream. You cannot wake up from a bad dream and accept it as the will of God for your life. Everything about your life begins and ends in Christ.

He was raised from the dead so that you don’t walk in fear. Bad dreams don’t have to define you – your place in Christ is superior to any contrary agenda of the devil against your life. Every thought or dream must be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. It doesn’t matter what the enemy throws at you, but be rest assured, you are covered in Christ.

Don’t Be Afraid When You Wake Up From A Bad Dream

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

The only reason you will be afraid if you ever wake up from a bad dream is when you don’t appreciate the value of who you are in Christ. Lack of this knowledge could make the devil look powerful. Jesus didn’t go through all that just for the enemy or anyone to undo His work through dreams.

Fear not! If the enemy comes like a flood through your dream, wake up thanking God for your victory in Christ Jesus.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

The fear you yield to will ultimately manifest in your life. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Whether the weapon is through your dream or any other medium, just lock it up in your heart that the devil cannot prosper in what he is doing against you.

Don’t allow fear to grip you until you aid the manifestation of the plan of the devil.

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,21 far above all principality[g] and [h]power and [i]might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:19-21

Are you not excited? This is what Jesus did for you! So instead of being afraid, or trying to get an interpretation the next time you have a bad dream, just thank God for the victory, He secured you. Because bad dreams have no bearing on your place in Christ.

You are far above all principalities and power and dominion and might and every name that is named. You can’t be scared by a dream. Wake up! Dust yourself up and offer thanks – for your life is hidden with Christ in God. Stay blessed.

Prayer For Today:

Holy Father, I thank you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the gracious life you have given me in Christ. I declare that my dreams are sanctified and pure. Any bad dream is henceforth aligned to the power of my Lord Jesus Christ. There is no negative effect of a bad dream on my life- I’m far above the realm of any evil plot against me. Amen
